Microbiotica Limited is a company registered in England and Wales with company number 6425006. Our registered office is at Chesterford Research Park, Little Chesterford, Cambridge, CB10 1XL, UK.
In this Notice, “Microbiotica”, “we”, “us”, “our” refers to Microbiotica Limited.
We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office under registration number ZA237648
What this Notice is for
Microbiotica is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. As we are determining the manner in which your personal data is collected, used and/or disclosed and managed, we are the Data Controller for personal data processing described below. With this Privacy Notice, Microbiotica wants to make sure that you understand what personal information is collected about you, how your personal information is used and how it is kept safe.
Microbiotica is committed to meeting its duty of transparency under applicable data protection legislation, including:
- the General Data Protection Regulation N°EU 2016/679 (hereinafter, the “GDPR”);
- the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 as it forms part of United Kingdom law by virtue of section 3 of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 and as subsequently amended (the “UK GDPR”).

When you interact with Microbiotica, including when you use our website, we may collect information about you, including personal data. Personal data is defined as information from which you may be identified both directly (from that information alone) and indirectly (when different pieces of information are combined). We will keep them for no longer than necessary to fulfil the purposes for which we collected it, including any legal requirements.
We may collect and process the personal data from you collected in a variety of ways.

Access to our Website implies your full and unreserved acceptance of this Privacy Notice (hereinafter the “Notice”), as well as its general terms of use and the Cookie Notice. You acknowledges having read the information below.
The Notice is valid for all pages hosted on our Website. It is not valid for the pages hosted by third parties to which Microbiotica may refer and whose privacy notices may differ. Microbiotica cannot therefore be held responsible for any data processed on these websites or by them. This Notice also applies to any other website that Microbiotica may operate, including our Company pages on LinkedIn.
Please note that for the use of social media, Microbiotica will be Joint-Controller with LinkedIn only for the following activities: accessing and processing statistical aggregate data provided by LinkedIn. For any other processing on that social media platform, the platform shall be considered as the sole Data Controller.
LinkedIn has created an “addendum” to their user agreements for company pages for the processing for which they are Joint-Controllers with us. Such agreement is not currently provided by Twitter, YouTube, Flickr or Vimeo.
Who we may share your information with
We may disclose aggregated information about you, and information that does not identify any individual, without restriction.
We may disclose personal information that we collect or you provide as described in this privacy Notice :
- To our subsidiaries and affiliates.
- To contractors, service providers, and other third parties we use to support our business and who are bound by contractual obligations to keep personal information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them.
- To a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganisation, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of our assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by us about our Website users is among the assets transferred.

- For any other purpose disclosed by us when you provide the information.

International data transfers
Where it is necessary that your information is transferred outside the UK and EEA, Microbiotica will take steps that are reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is subject to appropriate safeguards, such as relying on a recognised legal adequacy mechanism, for example, binding corporate rules or standard contractual clauses, and that it is treated securely and in accordance with this Notice.
How we protect your information
Microbiotica treats your personal data in a confidential manner and provides for a sufficient and adequate level of protection of your personal data. Your personal data are contained within secured networks and are only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems and are required to keep the information confidential.
Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our website or otherwise to our servers; any transmission you make is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
How long we keep your information
For information that you give to Microbiotica:
- For answering your queries either by email or through a contact form: We will process your data for the time necessary to meet your request.
- For job applications. We will process your data for the time necessary to manage your application. If you are not selected for the position applied for, we will seek your consent to include your personal data in our talent pool for future positions for a period of two years. When we no longer require your personal data, we will either delete or anonymize it or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal data has been stored in backup archives), securely store your personal data and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
For information that Microbiotica receives about your use of our website:
- For statistical purposes. Statistical information is stored by LinkedIn and is consequently subject to its retention policy. We may export statistical reports, but we guarantee that this is only in an anonymous form.
- Use of cookies for the functioning and managing of our website. Please, see our Cookie Notice for more information.
How we communicate with you
Where permitted in our legitimate interest or with your prior consent where required by law, Microbiotica may use your personal data for marketing analysis and to communicate promotional updates by email about our business or events.
You can object to receiving update communications from us at any time by asking to unsubscribe from our communications or by contacting us at info@microbiotica.com
Your rights
You have the right under certain circumstances:
